Raw and from a lesser conference, Rice gets an upgrade simply by sharing the field with Patrick Mahomes. LaPorta is arguably in the best situation of all rookie tight ends due to scheme and team need. With NFL size and ability, Tillman could push for snaps early in 2023. Live arm, accuracy and prototypical size. Parity in other positions pushes up the quarterbacks after Richardson. I’ve been high on Miller’s NFL skills for a long time and his landing spot is a good one. 1.11 Dalton Kincaid, TE, BUFĮqually rated with Mayer, Kincaid offers a stellar athletic profile in what could be a great situation. The strongest tight ends class in decades with two great choices - Mayer is my TE1. The talent is there to produce with touches. No one loves the drafted situation, and for good reason. He’ll have to be the exception (undersized) to have a productive fantasy career, but he has the skills. Richardson is so dynamic that the intrigue alone pushes him to 1.07, this year’s pivot point in rookie drafts. I like Johnston’s landing spot and ceiling, but he has a longer runway to production than other rookies. I do have concerns about his lack of strength at the next level.
Hard not to like Addison’s potential in an offense with Justin Jefferson. I like Flowers for his work in space, dynamic ability and strength across the field.
Take your pick among the next three receivers. What looked like a surprising selection by the Lions turned into projected gold when the team traded D’Andre Swift to the Eagles. Smith-Njigba is this year’s upside prospect at the position after Justin Jefferson (2020), Ja’Marr Chase (2021) and Garrett Wilson (2022).
Robinson is the easy 1.01 selection and, though I do believe 2022 rookie Tyler Allgeier will have a significant role, Robinson should have the volume and receptions to produce as a true RB1.
